Exploring the obscure net
First time doing one of these for Bear Blog Carnival: Your Favorite ____ in Your Niche Hobby!
I love exploring the hidden gems and obscurities of our beloved internet. I think it started during quarantine, when I had absolutely nothing to do in my life. I would explore countless websites (like this one!) and find the most interesting stories, pages, and amazing homemade styles created by hobbyist web developers and tech enthusiasts with a passion for dystopian/cyberpunk anime!
But while the indie web is a wonderful place to visit, I explored something much deeper than that. I explored spaces that were completely foreign to me. This includes countries such as Russia, Japan, Arabic-speaking countries, India, France, Lithuania, etc.
There were so many things I loved about some of these. One of these Japanese sites had a lot of flashing colors and pictures of Maneki-neko with color-flashing eyes as well. If I remember correctly, one of the texts translated into English said, "You are now a connection."
There were many other websites that seemed more corporate or political. I'd love to list them here, but unfortunately, I do not have most of them saved anymore (I wish I did!).
I do have a few links to the remaining websites I've saved. I'll end this off with them!
